Dwight Arthur

Dwight Arthur was born an artist. In his earliest pre-school explorations he demonstrated a clear talent for drawing, painting and photography and has since turned those childhood leanings into a life-long passion and profession. He has devoted his skills in turn to work as a fine artist, graphic designer; and photographer, currently working as a commercial and art photographer, and photography instructor.

As an instructor Dwight's enthusiasm for photography is clearly on display, as is his infinite patience for budding novices. He willingly shares out of the depth of his experience as both a professional photographer and artist, and has assisted hundreds of students in their quest to hone their skills as amateurs or enabling them to make photography a livelihood.

Dwight is a life-long resident of Red Deer, Alberta, a home he enjoys for long-term friends, its abundant natural areas, and close proximity to a wide variety of Alberta's amazing landscapes and ecosystems.

Collin Orthner

A passion for photography is a natural for Collin Orthner, who as a child growing up in the prairies and badlands of Alberta spent his days exploring nature, geology, geography, and weather. “I was, and still am, enthralled by the grandeur of a prairie thunderstorm, the welcoming song of a meadowlark or the thundering roar of a train coming down the track,” and it's that inquisitive, observant nature that continues to fuel his creative work that resides in private collections across North America and Europe.

His involvement in photography, however, goes well beyond personal explorations. With experience as the staff photographer with the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology , Reynolds- Alberta Museum and other government positions, and with work published worldwide in LIFE, Travel & Leisure, Canadian Geographic, Photo Life, Readers Digest Press (Australia) and Japan Times, Collin has a wealth of knowledge and experience he is eager to share with fellow photographers.

Rick Price

Rick has worked as a PPOC accredited professional photographer, based out of Red Deer, for over two decades. While his commercial specialty is portraiture he is a versatile, all-round shooter, passionate about exploring new territory, both experimentally and literally: as his interests have particularly turned to the challenge of nature photography which has taken him regularly as far afield as Alaska. "I especially love the difficulty of taking wildlife images, because the actors will never do what you want them to!” His aim is always to capture the rare remarkable moments, and he demonstrates great determination in doing so, eagerly applying the extensive time and infinite patience necessary to excel at it.

As an instructor Rick is noted for much more than his knowledge. He is warm, engaging, down-to-earth, generous, and above all, humorous. Laughter is a certainty whenever he is involved!
